Evaluation (CCE) has apparently made clearing Class 10 an easy feat
for most students. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)

Delhi for Class 10 is 98.52%.
In the year 2010, the pass percentage for Delhi had been 89.04%. The

and adopted a grading system instead. Also, it made taking the Board
Examinations optional for all students.
More than 82% of Class 10 students in Delhi this year had opted for
the school-based final examinations. Government schools in the capital
too have shown a marked improvement in their pass percentage that has
reached an all time high of 99.03% from the 90.96% of last year.
The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, noted for there excellence in
education, have led the Class 10 results 99.36% of students clearing
the examinations. These are followed by the Kendriya Vidyalayas that
have a pass percentage of 99.16%.
Private schools in the capital have also noted a clear increase of
5.07% in their pas percentage, with 97.92% of students having cleared
Class 10 this year.
In Delhi alone, 298330 students had registered of which only 51196
candidates chose to appear for the CBSE board examinations. These rest
appeared for the school-based exams that were conducted in March 2011.
The Board has also revealed that apart from the increase in pass
percentage, the number of high scorers have also increased as compared
to 2010. Last year, 697 candidates from Delhi had scored the A1 grade
or a CGPA of 10 and had received merit certificates. This year, the
number of students has increased to 2000.
The CBSE also said that there will not be any difference between the
certificates that will be issued to students who took the CBSE boards
and those who took the school-based exams.
