President for zero tolerance against ragging

President Pratibha Patil on Thursday called for zero tolerance against
ragging in the country.

Speaking at a seminar attended by the vice-chancellors of several
central varsities, directors of Indian Institutes of Technology
(IITs), Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and others, Patil
called for completely eliminating the menace of ragging.

"There is a need to create zero tolerance to the reprehensible and
hideous practice of ragging. The menace of ragging, which has been
vitiating the educational atmosphere, needs to be completely
eliminated," she said.

Patil said that she was sure heads of premier educational institutions
will work towards it with all sincerity. IANS
