CBSE Patna results - girls outperform boys again

Patna: Girls have once again outperformed boys in the Central Board of
Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 results for the Patna region that
were announced on Friday.

Whereas the overall pass percentage of girls in the state was 81.1%,
the percentage of boys stood only at 66.50%. The examinations were
conducted from March 1 to April 13. The overall pass percentage for
the Patna zone for this year is 71.20%.

This year, 64554 students from 354 schools had applied for the CBSE
Class 12 exams this year from the Patna region. Of these, 62541
students took the test that was conducted at 158 centres in Bihar and
Jharkhand.

The number of boys who had appeared for the examination was 42565 and
the number of girls was 19976. This was the first time that the Patna
zone overseeing the CBSE schools on Bihar and Jharkhand declared the
results on its own.

Joint Secretary and regional officer of the CBSE S.U. Sorte said on
Friday that the CBSE will conduct compartmental examinations on July
16 for students who failed to qualify.

He further informed that students who couldn't qualify will be able to
get their answer sheets re-evaluated by filling the form for the
purpose within 21 days of the declaration of results. The charge for
filling the form is Rs.200 and the results will be available in 15-20
days.

The CBSE websites also allows students to fill the forms online at a
charge of Rs.300. The results of the re-evaluation if applied for
online will be available within five days.
