aspirants to the North Campus on Monday.
DU officials informed that during the DU Open Day on Monday, students
were much interested in topics such as BA (Hons.) Mathematics with
several students asking for admission criteria of the subject and
prospective careers in the field.
Gurpreet Singh Tuteja, deputy dean of students' welfare said that
since only two more Open Days are left, there were around 1200 DU
aspirants who had visited the session on Monday.
He further informed that after appearing for the Common Aptitude Test
in English (CATE) and other entrance tests for business courses like
BBS, BBE and BFIA on Sunday, many students wished to inquire about
other course options as well.
"There were queries of many kinds and several students with an
aggregate of 88%-92% wanted to find out if BA "(Hons.) Mathematics was
a good course option," he said.
He also said that several students who believed that it would be
unlikely for them to get admission into B.Com (Hons.) in a campus
college were also willing to explore the option of studying
mathematics instead.
The university sold about 700-800 information brochures on Monday.
