accommodation facilities to the candidates both internal and external
and their parents for stay at the University premises.
The decision was taken in a meeting of University functionaries
chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. P. K. Abdul Azis.
The combined admission test for admission to Class XI (Science) and
Diploma in Engineering will be held on May 8, 2011 at 42 centres. More
than thirty seven thousand candidates including XI (Arts, Social
Science and Commerce) will appear in the test.
At the Aligarh centre more than twenty nine thousand candidates have
applied to appear in the test. AMU will also conduct its entrance test
of Class XI and Diploma in Engineering at Patna and Lucknow.
4718 candidates in Patna and 3462 in Lucknow will be appearing in the
combined admission test for Class XI and Diploma in Engineering.
Another meeting of the General Superintendents of various centres
chaired by the Vice Chancellor Azis reviewed the state of preparedness
at the different test centres.
All the general superintendents informed the meeting that they are
completely prepared.
Presiding over the meeting, the AMU VC observed that conducting the
admission tests of various courses is a matter of national endeavor
and support from every authority and faculty of the University
including the management of outside institutions is essentially needed
to accomplish this challenging task.
Controller of Examinations Pervez Mustajab said that all the
arrangements have been made to conduct the entrance test in a peaceful
manner. He said that duplicate hall tickets will be issued on May 6
and 7 at the Admission Section to those candidates who have not
received the same by post.
He also said that the Hall Tickets will also be provided at the test
centres on May 8, 2011 prior to the test. He further informed that
this year, a procedure has been designed for the speedy issuance of
duplicate admit cards to candidates.
The status report of each candidate is available on the university
website so that the candidates may be able to know their roll number
and test centre as well and on the basis of this information they may
apply for the duplicate admit card in the prescribed proforma in case
they have not received the admit card.
Special help camps will be organized by the National Service Scheme
(NSS) of the University at Railway Station and other important places
to provide guidance to candidates.
Internal female candidates will be accommodated in the Abdullah Hall
while the accommodation facilities will be provided to male internal
candidates with S. T. High School.
The University would also provide limited accommodation in the NRSC
Club, University Guest House Community Hall, NSS, Indira Gandhi Hall
and Games Committee.
The District Administration will provide all necessary assistance to
conduct the test in a smooth manner.
The VC requested to all the Chief Secretaries of the concerned states
to make adequate security arrangements to conduct the various
admission tests of AMU.
In order to maintain transparency and to avoid the possibility of use
of unfair means during the entrance test, the University has arranged
for digital photography of all candidates appearing in the admission
tests.
The Public Relations Officer Rahat Abrar will be providing all
logistic support and issue passes to videographers and also arrange
the visit of press correspondents at the test centres.
