Grant-in-aid for schools to continue

New Delhi: The Delhi government, in a meeting, on Wednesday, chaired
by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, along with education minister
Arvinder Singh Lovely and officials of the directorate of education
and other department has decided to extend the grant-in-aid to aid the
middle school and secondary schools after their up-gradation to
secondary and senior secondary schools respectively.

The move is likely to benefit thousands of students who are not in a
position to pay increased fees in case the grant-in-aid is not
sanctioned. Dikshit stated that all aided schools in Delhi will
continue to get grant-in-aid proportionate to the number of students
and teachers, even after up-gradation.
