Technological University (DTU), formerly Delhi College of Engineering,
has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the School
of Computing (SoC) of National University of Singapore (NUS).
The MoU was signed by Dr. Daya Gupta, Head of Department, Computer
Engineering on behalf of DTU and by Prof. Ooi Beng Chin, Dean, School
of Computing on behalf of NUS.
The MoU will allow both the universities to identify opportunities for
academic staff exchanges and cooperation and joint research and
development in disciplines of mutual interest in the discipline of
Computer Science.
Under the MoU, upto two graduating students of Computer Science will
get an opportunity to pursue their post-graduation at SoC-NUS, subject
to their fulfilling the merit criteria. The MoU shall also facilitate
the visit of one faculty member of DTU to SoC-NUS and vice-versa, each
year.
It may also open avenues for undergraduate and post-graduate students
of DTU to undertake summer internship and research projects at NUS.
According to Dr. Ruchika Malhotra, assistant professor, Department of
Computer & Software Engineering, DTU, "The MoU will provide an
opportunity to the faculty members of both institutions to undertake
collaborative projects in research and other academic activities as
well as a chance to work in an international atmosphere."
The validity of the MoU is initially for two years, after which it
will be renewed further on mutual consent.
NUS is one of the leading Universities of Singapore. It offers a
global approach to education and research, with a focus on Asian
perspectives and expertise and offers academic programs at
undergraduate and postgraduate level in wide array of disciplines like
engineering, business studies, dentistry, law, design and environment,
medicine, arts & social sciences and so on.
