Amity plans medical college at Manesar

Manesar: Amity University, Haryana will soon set up a medical college here at Manesar. Prof (Dr) RC Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, Amity University said that the land has already been identified for constructing a hospital, which is a mandatory requirement for establishing a medical college.

He said that they are also going to launch more study programmes in nursing and paramedics, architecture, law, hospitality, foreign languages, fashion technology and fine arts etc.

Prof Sharma also added that, originally Amity Business School had been started with 40 students in 1999, which had now grown into a full-fledged university spread over 110 acres, having a strength of nearly 700 and offering undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses in various branches of science, technology, biotechnology, commerce, management and journalism and mass communication.

Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor inaugurated "Ignition-2011", the first technical fest jointly organized by Amity School of Engineering and Technology and Amity Institute of Biotechnology of the university. Nearly 150 participants from various educational institutes participated in the fest, which focused on generating awareness about the latest discoveries and their underlying principles.
